The animals
At the Krautsand Farm, everything revolves around the well-being of our Wagyu and Angus cattle, all year round. In summer, our animals spend their days on wide pastures, protected under the branches of old trees, while they enjoy the fresh air and green grass of the island of Krautsand. Species-appropriate husbandry that meets the natural needs of the animals is crucial for us - their well-being is the basis for the quality of our products.
We also place great importance on animal welfare in the winter months. Our winter stables are built according to the latest EU standards and offer our cattle plenty of space, good ventilation and comfortable lying areas. Here they can move around freely and lead a relaxed life even in the colder seasons.
To ensure the health of our animals at all times, we have our own veterinarian on the team. This means we can act quickly if necessary and provide each animal with the best possible care. Short distances and close supervision guarantee that our cattle are well looked after at all times.

Wagyu comes from Japanese and simply means “Japanese beef” – “Wagyu” means beef (“Gyu”) from Japan (“Wa”).
In the Western world, it became particularly known as Kobe beef. However, only the meat of Wagyu cattle born, raised, and slaughtered in the Kobe region is allowed to bear the Kobe designation. The meat is also known as the meat of emperors and connoisseurs. In Japan, the finest cuts of the "caviar of steaks" are sold exclusively at auctions to the highest bidder.

Angus cattle produce meat with an exceptionally distinctive flavor, especially when they live as freely and naturally as they do on our farm. The cattle are raised in a pleasantly temperate climate using a combination of pasture and grain farming, free from any chemicals or artificial feed additives.

They can root around, wallow and live out their natural behavior to their heart's content - just as their nature dictates.
